” Wisse was my diving instructor at Rising Sun on Zanzibar, Tanzania, and allowed me to live my lifelong childhood dream of scuba diving. And I could not have wished for a better instructor! Wisse is extremely professional and excellent at explaining all the necessary procedures when diving – which is very comforting when you for the first time have to breathe with 18 meters of Indian Ocean above your head! I felt in good hands all the way through my Open Water Course, and everything was explained and showed in an easily comprehensible manner by Wisse. At the same time Wisse a regular good guy; fun and friendly, and we all had lots of laughs and a great time all the way through.

” I have had the pleasure to dive with Wisse on two different dive trips over the past year, one in the Dominican Republic and one in St Maarten. In March of 2014, I first met Wisse at Coral Point Dive Shop in Bayahibe where he was doing his IDC training and I a specialty course and some fun dives. We connected again in December of 2014 when I was on a holiday dive trip to Sint Maarten and he was working as a dive instructor and dive guide with Dive Safaris. During this trip, he was my dive guide for quite a few of the dives I did, and I enjoyed having him as my guide. Wisse is a “people person” and went out of his way to interact with and make all divers on our dive boat feel welcome and safe. He is a conscientious dive guide and pays attention to his customers throughout the dive….checking frequently for safety items such as air consumption and if everyone is feeling ok. He is also great at pointing our ocean critters to the dive group. He is helpful on the boat both before and after dives as well…ensuring everyone has all their gear and everything is working correctly, helping divers on and off the boat, chatting to make nervous divers feel at ease, and so on.

Diving is Wisse’s passion, and I look forward to the next time I will have the opportunity to dive together with him again! ”
